"A Fiction": Manuel Bompard Reacts to the Release of the Investigative Book on La France Insoumise

"A work of fiction." This is the term chosen by the LFI deputy for Bouches-du-Rhône , Manuel Bompard , on BFMTV this Tuesday, May 6, to talk about the investigative book, La Meute, which is scheduled for release this Wednesday.
"I think this book is fiction," the coordinator of La France Insoumise told us.
The book, by Charlotte Belaïch (journalist at Libération) and Olivier Pérou (journalist at Le Monde), examines the workings of La France Insoumise , describing a clan system around Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his partner, MP Sophia Chikirou.
The atmosphere within the movement is described as stifling and any divergence considered a reason for eviction.
Contrary to what this book would have us believe, LFI activists do not spend their time "devoting themselves" to a leader, Manuel Bompard emphasizes, but are "committed" to "convictions" and a "program that they defend."
"Through this book, we portray activists of La France Insoumise as people who don't think, who don't reflect, who are alienated, as if in the morning when we get up we ask Jean-Luc Mélenchon for his opinion on whether we should have tea or coffee. Well no, that doesn't correspond to reality, that's not how it works," assures Manuel Bompard.
How could a party, which set up a "training school" to give its activists "tools" for reflection, prevent them from thinking for themselves?" continues the LFI deputy. In February 2023, Jean-Luc Mélenchon inaugurated the "La Boétie" training institute in Paris, intended to train future leaders of the radical left.
Manuel Bompard, while evoking the party's desire to move to a Sixth Republic , finally assures that "if La France Insoumise comes to power tomorrow, the functioning of French society will be much more democratic than under Emmanuel Macron."
